Our target
Children of Europe, o.p.s. is targeted on improving the protection of children’s rights across Europe.
We provide the following services:
- the promotion of children’s rights to have access to both parents
- assistance in the concrete help for public, to help parents for find the best solution or decision mainly in the interest of the children
- gathering and sharing of information concerning the protection of children’s rights, as well as their publication
- the creation and administration of an informative web server
- organization of discussions, seminars, conferences and other related activities in order to spread relevant info and to educate
- cooperation with European institutions, commissions and non for profit organizations
- activities aimed to support a consistent application of the present national and European legislation in the area of shared custody, protection of children’s interest
Ultimately, we want to influence the decision making process in Europe and fight against the gender discrimination, which currently exists within the case law in EU member states.
Our goal is to achieve parental equality with the main focus on the shared custody, to ensure the right of a child, who is separated from one or both parents, to maintain personal relations and direct contact with both parents on regular basis. As it is mentioned in Convention on contact concerning children.
Czech republic ratified this document as shows the list of signatures.
The declaration of Children's rights (the whole text is to be found on the UNICEF web-page) is speaking about the family as a basic unit of any society and also about the right of a child for a harmony development of a personality. Chapter 2, 3, 9, 10, 18 is speaking about the contact with parents as well as about the right not to be separated from parents. The declarion of the Children's rights became a part of the General declaration of human rights.
